Slouchy |
My niece Kellie was diagnosed with Cancer, a lemon-sized tumor was found and immediately removed from her brain on January 27th. Biopsy shows it to be an aggressive 'tentacled' tumor and she is undergoing chemo and radiation as well as physical therapy. Her strength in her Savior Jesus Christ has kept a smile on her face through it all. She, her husband and her four children glorify the Lord even in this, the toughest of situations. Truly she is an inspiration to me and I wanted to wrap her in love in the only way I know how, by knitting and crocheting her some chemo caps.

Toque (beanie) |
So.....I immediately set out to make her some chemo caps, but I wanted one which was as feminine and delicate as Kellie, so I designed this one. This pattern has a toque (beanie) option (shown in Baby Bee Sweet Delight Baby yarn in white, colorway name 'Angel') as well as a slouchy (looser fabric) option (shown in NaturallyCaron aqua colorway named 'Ocean Spray').

Kellie is an inspiration and a true Proverbs 31 woman. I love her dearly!
I will keep Kellie in my prayers! I just lost a friend to cancer last month. She was also strong in the Lord and very active in our church! She and her husband were our youth pastors. My comfort comes in knowing that she is now with our Lord. :,)
ReplyDeleteThank you. We are truly at peace when we're in the Lord. We don't want to lose our loved ones but we know that those who die in Christ earn a promotion as they go to be with Jesus the second they leave this body.
DeleteFor to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)
Thank-you for sharing this beautiful pattern. I am hoping to crochet this for my aunt's friend. My only hope is to do it justice. Again, thank-you for making a beautiful design that is "womanly."
