Women Preachers - What God's Word Says

God's Word is the ultimate authority, in my life, and if you are a Christian it should be in your life. Even if what it says is hard for you to accept. We cannot choose what parts of God's Word we would follow or believe. This is a subject very close to my heart. The human desire to usurp authority is nothing new, you may be a man or a perhaps a woman who has no desire to be a preacher, therefore, this teaching will not be hard to accept. But if a woman is on the pulpit (i.e. Joyce Meyers etal), she is going against God's word and being disobedient to God.

If you disagree I urge you only to listen, praying for the Holy Spirit to show you the Truth. Read over and meditate the verses mentioned in this study and above all, choose to glorify God with your gift of teaching, rather than yourself.

In love!

  1. Hi Ariel!

What a pleasure to meet you! I hope you are feeling better! Also, I see we have a few things in common -- not the least of which is our love for animals! Bless God!

Well, bravo to your post! Whenever this discussion comes up (and by the way, I don't think differing views on this subject are cause to break fellowship at all) I always use a military analogy. In the armed forces there is a hierarchy. There are functions. There are assignments. In the same way, God has established his own creation with a God ordained order which has nothing to do with value or worth but rather God's glory in His design.

Many blessings to you and it is wonderful to meet you!

  2. Thank you for your comment sister. Forgive my later moderation & reply, I've been out with a bad cold.

Truly this, as with all things which God's Word teaches comes down to obedience! I like you military hierarchical analogy very much. God made men and women very differently giving us our strengths and abilities for a reason. As part of the body of Christ we each have our function and the worst thing we can do is be prideful to be wanting to attain a higher position in the body if it is not God's will - that goes for men as well. God's Word is crystal clear about the role of women and it's not a demeaning one.

All teachers and preachers of God's word need to take James 3:1 seriously!:
"Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment."

  3. We are so interested in being politically correct that we aren't biblically correct--what really matters. I agree with you about Joyce Meyers.

    Discovered your blog by accident.

  4. Carol, so glad you found the blog. It's to God's glory and I am blessed by meeting like-minded discerning brothers and sisters in Christ through it. You are right, we must choose God rather than men. This is the mistake that the unbelieving Jews of Jesus' day made:

Matt 12:23-24 the Jews commit the unpardonable sin, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. The crowd did not discern for themselves the proof that Jesus was the expected Messiah, instead they turn to the Pharisees, religious leaders of the day for guidance.
23 All the crowds were amazed, and were saying , “This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?” 24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.”

    Mark 7:5-8
5 The Pharisees and the scribes *asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with impure hands?” 6 And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:
‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS,
BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME.
7 ‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME,
TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.’
8 Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.”

    James 4:4
You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Don't believe ME, or anyone else, go to the Scriptures, as the Bereans did even from the Apostles' and Disciples' mouths!
    Acts 17:11
Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

    Galatians 1:8
But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!
