Rastaflorian Hat (FREE Pattern)

Lately I've gone on a crochet kick, and my sweet friend Linda (Stoneybrooke Cottage) turned me onto her addiction to African Flower Hexagons. This turned into a pentagon, but rather preferred the asymmetry of it, and kept on designing.

The pattern directions for both a 'regular' slouch and extra-slouchy versions (all pictures shown in pattern are less slouchy).

Finishing options are regular (white hat shown) or picot (brown hat shown).

Enjoy this free pattern, favorite or queue it on the Ravelry pattern page.

February Lady Sweater

Mothers are special, and mine definitely is. In Exodus 20:12 God gives the commandment to "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the LORD your God gives you."Did you know that was the only commandment given with a promise attached to it?

Mom turned 81 years young last week. I her a February Lady Sweater, actually a vest because I ran out of yarn. I intended to make her sleeves but she liked it just this way!

The buttons are vintage cat’s eye buttons which HER dad wore on his vests back in the 1910's & 20’s and they match the yarn PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!! I had the exact number of buttons I needed (3).

Close up of buttons:She wore it out to lunch and then to Bible Study. It was a great day.

Basic Message of the Bible

Do you know what the Bible is all about? This is it! I pray you have come to Salvation. If not, just watch this and see what it's all about. For Christians, this is also a good example of how to share Jesus with another.

What's Your INCONVENIENCE?

This blind quilter is such an inspiration - I wanted to share this with you. She truly knows the secret to happiness, to, as the Apostle Paul said "LEARN to be content in whatever circumstances" (Philipians 4:11). She says (and proves) that blindness is not her handicap, but her "inconvenience".

Praise God for her and her encouragement!
