5 Things God Wants You To Know

I uploaded a pamphlet my husband had saved for years. It's a succinct 2-page document called Five Things God Wants You To Know by the late pastor Nick Michalinos.

If you have not yet come to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, in this the time the world celebrates His birth, I ask that you take just a few minutes to read this. Click the link above, it's a PDF.

We all come to Him lost, so don't think you have to wait until you get your life straightened out, or until you can give money to the church. Tomorrow may be too late. Please read it and Merry Christmas to all!

Rapture Readying ~ Bible Prophecy Today

Rapture Readying ~ Bible Prophecy Today

Rapture Readying

Terry JamesBy Terry James

This Wednesday (December 16), The History Channel is supposed to air a program as part of its series, "The Nostradamus Effect." The topic of the program will be "The Rapture." It is the program for which I was asked to interview, and did so last June.

The program was first scheduled, according to the documentary's project co-producer, for Wednesday, December 2. It was then moved to Wednesday, December 9, and finally, I was alerted that it will be aired this Wednesday (December 16).

While the move of the program's air date is frustrating in that we must keep changing our announcement to you, it is nonetheless interesting to observe that the program's delay allows for further developments on the world and national scenes that make us know the time of the Rapture itself is drawing ever nearer - thus the title of this commentary, "Rapture Readying.."

That's exactly how I view things that have been developing for these past months. The world is readying for the Rapture of the church of Jesus Christ. The fact is increasingly obvious to those who put their spiritual hearts and minds into observing the issues and events of these recent times, looking with spiritual eyes through the prism of biblical prophetic truth.

Abbott and Costello Learn Hebrew - Too Funny!

Abbott & Costello Learn Hebrew
(Source: http://www.animatedhebrew.com/justforfun/abbott_costello.html)

ABBOTT: I see you're here for your Hebrew lesson.
COSTELLO: I'm ready to learn.
A: Now, the first thing you must understand is that Hebrew and English have many words which sound alike, but they do not mean the same thing.
C: Sure, I understand.
A: Now, don't be too quick to say that.
C: How stupid do you think I am - don't answer that. It's simple - some words in Hebrew sound like words in English, but they don't mean the same.
A: Precisely.
C: We have that word in English, too. What does it mean in Hebrew?
A: No, no. Precisely is an English word.
C: I didn't come here to learn English, I came to learn Hebrew. So make with the Hebrew.
A: Fine. Let's start with mee.
C: You.
A: No, mee.
C: Fine, we'll start with you.
A: No, we'll start with mee.
C: Okay, have it your way.
A: Now, mee is who.
C: You is Abbott.
A: No, no, no. Mee is who.
C: You is Abbott.
A: You don't understand.
C: I don't understand? Did you just say me is who?
A: Yes I did. Mee is who.
C: You is Abbott.
A: No, you misunderstand what I am saying. Tell me about mee.
C: Well, you're a nice enough guy.
A: No, no. Tell me about mee!
C: Who?
A: Precisely.
C: Precisely what?
A: Precisely who.
C: It's precisely whom!
A: No, mee is who.
C: Don't start that again - go on to something else.
A: All right. Hu is he.
C: Who is he?
A: Yes.
C: I don't know. Who is he?
A: Sure you do. You just said it.
C: I just said what?
A: Hu is he.
C: Who is he?
A: Precisely.
C: Again with the precisely! Precisely who?
A: No, precisely he.
C: Precisely he? Who is he?
A: Precisely!
C: And what about me?
A: Who.
C: me, me, me!
A: Who, who, who!
C: What are you, an owl? Me! Who is me?
A: No, hu is he!
C: I don't know, maybe he is me!
A: No, hee is she!
C: (STARE AT ABBOTT) Do his parents know about this?
A: About what?
C: About her!
A: What about her?
C: That she is he!
A: No, you've got it wrong - hee is she!
C: Then who is he?
A: Precisely!
C: Who?
A: He!
C: Me?
A: Who!
C: He?
A: She!
C: Who is she?
A: No, hu is he.
C: I don't care who is he, I want to know who is she?
A: No, that's not right.
C: How can it not be right? I said it. I was standing here when I said it, and I know me.
A: Who.
C: Who?
A: Precisely!
C: Me! Me is that he you are talking about! He is me!
A: No, hee is she!
C: Wait a Minute, wait a minute! I'm trying to learn a little Hebrew, and now I can't even speak English. Let me review.
A: Go ahead.
C: Now first You want to know me is who.
A: Correct.
C: And then you say who is he.
A: Absolutely.
C: And then you tell me he is she.
A & C: Precisely!
C: Now look at this logically. If me is who, and who is he, and he is she, don't it stand to reason that me is she?
A: Who?
C: She!
A: That is he!
C: Who is he?
A & C: Precisely!
C: I have just about had it. You have me confused I want to go home. You know what I want? Ma!
A: What.
C: I said Ma.
A: What.
C: What are you, deaf? I want Ma!
A: What!
C: Not what, who!
A: He!
C: Not he! Ma is not he!
A: Of course not! Hu is he!
C: I don't know. I don't know. I don't care. I don't care who is he, he is she, me is who, ma is what. I just want to go home now and play with my dog.
A: Fish.
C: Fish?
A: Dag is fish.
C: That's all, I'm outa here.

Israel: The Inscrutable Enigma

Elwood McQuaidBy Elwood McQuaid

Mark Twain, the famous American author, humorist, narrator, and social observer, had great personal problems with the religionists of his day and many other aspects of the world he occupied in the 1800s.

He was, however, fascinated by the Jewish people. To him, they were both an enigma and an inspiration. His description, in his book Innocents Abroad, of the Holy Land’s topography chronicled the land’s barrenness and apparent hopelessness and was a moving landmark in the Jewishpeople’s progression across the face of history and the Middle East.

His observations of the area as a sterile wasteland fit only for the habitation of “owls and jackals” had an almost mystic quality, much like the explanation once given of the melancholy strains of Jewish, minor-key music.

“It’s as though, in the music of the Jewish people, that just beneath the pathos there is a joyful ebullience about to burst through.”
This refrain seems reflected in the words of Samuel Clemens when he wrote “Concerning the Jews” for Harper’s Magazine in 1898:
“If the statistics are right, the Jews constitute but one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous dim puff of star-dust lost in the blaze of the Milky Way. Properly the Jew ought hardly to be heard of; but he is heard of, has always been heard of. He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. His contributions to the world’s list of great names in literature, science, art, music, finance, medicine, and abstruse learning are also away out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers.

“He has made a marvelous fight in this world, in all the ages; and has done it with his hands tied behind him. He could be vain of himself, and be excused for it. The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Persian rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then faded to dream-stuff and passed away; the Greek and the Roman followed, and made a vast noise, and they are gone; other peoples have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now, or have vanished.

“The Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind. All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains. What is the secret of his immortality?”
The secret of the Jewish people’s immortality is no secret. It’s written on every page of God’s eternal Word. Furthermore, it is confirmed on every successive Jewish march through history from the clouds of adversity. And when one views their situation in these troubled times, beleaguered by enemies and betrayed by friends, there is the vision of undeniable expectation. Israel is a nation in waiting, hanging on until the trumpet sounds to herald the entrance of a deliverer who will lead it into the light and bring an end to the anguish of the ages.

One of the great ironies is that the more there appears to be reason for depression, the more obvious it is that a great change is on the horizon. It is as though an inevitable, climactic consummation were on the way — an Armageddon-proportioned experience.

Biblically, the waiting will end with the promised Second Advent of the Son of Man, Messiah Jesus, in the day when “all Israel will be saved” (Rom. 11:26).

In a way, the expectation of those awaiting His first appearance was comparable to what goes on today. For the Jewish people and their little nation then, things could not have been much worse. Pagan Rome was master of the world, and its grip tightened inexorably with every passing day. But there was the promise; the virgin shall conceive . . . the Savior shall arrive. And as rugged shepherds on the hills of Bethlehem could attest, He did arrive and changed the world. Our promise, as sure as theirs, will come — and come soon, we are certain.

Too bad so many brilliant and gifted men like Samuel Clemens still discern the shadow and ask the question, “What is the secret of his immortality?” Yet they never grasp the reality.

WARNING: Israel in Danger of Being Blindsided by Two New Grave Threats

Joel C. RosenbergBy Joel C. Rosenberg

On October 6, 1973, Israel was hit by a massive and devastating surprise attack on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in Judaism. The warning signs that Israel’s enemies were gearing up to deal the Jewish State a death blow were there. Her leaders simply didn’t properly assess, interpret and respond to them. By God’s grace, Israel was saved from the brink of utter ruination. But it was close, and painful........

More Than a Ball of Yarn

As a knitter, sometime crocheter and lover of yarn, I loved this post! :o) From http://www.truewoman.com/?id=740

Mary KassianMore than a Ball of Yarn

Your Purpose posted on 07.09.09 by Mary Kassian

There’s a mall with a small Zellers Department Store not far from my house. Because I’ve frequented it often over the years, I’m quite familiar with the layout of the store and roughly what’s contained in each aisle. Several months ago, I ran into Zellers to buy a few things for the house. I rounded the corner from the aisle containing pillows and blankets into the next aisle, where I expected to find candles, vases, and home decor. But what I saw stopped me dead in my tracks. The aisle had been transformed. From top to bottom, beginning to end, it was stocked full of colorful balls of yarn. I stood there gawking in amazement.

Now you may not think that there’s anything particularly unusual about a yarn aisle in a department store. But I was stunned. The reason I was stunned was that the womanly art of knitting and crocheting fell by the wayside a long time ago—along with the idea that the best place for a young wife and mom was in the home.

When I was a little girl, my Oma (granny) had taken me to the yarn aisle to pick out beautiful skeins for my next crocheting project. And although it was still possible to find yarn in craft stores, I hadn’t seen a shelf—let alone a whole aisle full—in a department store for what seemed like eons.

The feminist women-centered analysis (err . . . brainwashing) of the seventies and eighties had convinced women like me that womanly crafts like knitting and crocheting were trivial, if not borderline demeaning. We were taught that women should stop doing menial things for the home and devote our attention to things of serious importance—like developing a career and earning a lot of money. I hadn’t picked up a crochet hook in decades.

I was so overwhelmed by my thoughts that I stayed there in the yarn aisle for a while, pondering the cultural significance of it all. I ran my fingers over the skeins, feeling the thickness and texture of the strings. I studied the sizes and types of hooks and needles. I thought back to sitting at Oma’s feet, having her guide my clumsy young hands in basic crochet stitches. I thought of the pretty doilies she taught me to crochet and the sense of pride and accomplishment when my mom displayed my work on the living room coffee table.

I thought about the relaxed womanly camaraderie . . . a grandmother sitting for hours mentoring and training her young granddaughter in womanly arts. Things that she had learned from her grandmother. And she, from her grandmother before her. I thought about the whole concept of an older woman training a younger woman how to be a woman and how to pour herself into making a house a home. I thought about the admonition of Titus 2:3 for older women to teach younger women good and beautiful things. The sense of nostalgia that swept over me at that moment was profound. We women have lost so much.

I think that many women are beginning to feel the vacuum. They’re yearning for womanly things. That’s why a whole aisle of yarn has, after a 25 year absence, suddenly re-appeared at my local department store.

Inspired, I bought a ball of crochet thread and some hooks. I pulled out some old patterns I had kept stored in a box in my basement, and sat on the couch refreshing my memory on how to crochet. The next time I stayed with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law in Houston, I bought some bright pink, blue, and green skeins and large plastic hooks to teach my young niece how to crochet. We sat on the floor for a couple of hours as I guided her inexperienced hands in how to hook chains and do single crochets. We laughed together and worked together. When she was finished, she decorated her bed frame with bright, pretty crocheted flowers. I don’t know who was more proud.

What took place that day was a whole lot more valuable than a day at the office. It makes me think that our foremothers were a lot wiser than we gave them credit for. It is us—and not them—that have been deceived by an elaborate yarn.

Rapture

The Lord is coming very soon. Are you Ready? Watch this short video for an illustration of what will happen when the Lord comes for His church and what is the fate of those who are 'left behind'.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore comfort one another with these words.

I recommend http://www.gotquestions.org/rapture.html for concise Q&A on the subject. For example: Question: "What is the Rapture of the church?"

Answer:
The word “rapture” does not occur in the Bible. The concept of the rapture, though, is clearly taught in Scripture. The rapture of the church is the event in which God removes all believers from the earth in order to make way for His righteous judgment to be poured out on the earth during the tribulation period. The rapture is described primarily in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. God will resurrect all believers who have died, give them glorified bodies, and take them from the earth, along with those believers who are still alive and who will at that time also be given glorified bodies. “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

The rapture will be instantaneous in nature, and we will receive glorified bodies at that time. “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). The rapture is the glorious event we should all be longing for. We will finally be free from sin. We will be in God's presence forever. There is far too much debate over the meaning and scope of the rapture. This is not God’s intent. Rather, in regard to the rapture, God wants us to “encourage each other with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:18).

Death Is Not Dying

I want to share this with you, but words I write could never do this story justice. It's a wonderful testimony to LIFE, and to life everlasting. If you are not a believer in Jesus Christ this is one of the best examples I have ever encountered of the peace and understanding that comes with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, by accepting the Jesus Christ as Lord in your life.

I quote Rachel when I remind you that "we are all dying".

Duh! right?!?

It just happens that she has a better idea of when that might happen for her than the rest of us do. On the other hand, this might be the last time you turn on your computer. Hundreds of people who heard her testimony on the radio as I did - perfectly healthy people will get to heaven before SHE does.

The point is that we all have an eternal soul, the question is where will YOU spend eternity? God's word is clear........if you have NOT accepted Christ in this life, you will not be in heaven with Him. Rachel's testimony is wonderful in that she has the "peace that surpasses all understanding" (Philippians 4:7)

I first heard this on the Revive Our Hearts daily radio show (top 2 links below) where you can hear and download FREE of charge Rachel Barkey's testimony.

Rachel's own website is http://deathisnotdying.com/
Rachel was called home to the Lord on July 2, 2009, but her testimony will forever be with us.

No Fear

I was listening to Alistair Begg (Truth For Life Podcast) - he's a Scottish preacher with a church in Cleveland now, I believe. The website is http://www.truthforlife.org. He's a wonderful preacher with an amazing gift of teaching God's word. It's not saying fancy words or words in Greek or Hebrew, but he's more edifying and helpful to my daily walk then most preachers I have heard!

I was listening to him just now while working out in the garden and he said something so simple and so profound which I really needed to be remembered. He said
"it's an amazing wonder, it's the law of God's providence, that those who fear God should have nothing else to fear - and those who do not fear God become slaves to a thousand fears"

This is from his podcast dated June 5th entitled Glory to God, Part B. "that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will bring about at the proper time--He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen." (1 Timothy 6:14-16)

Obama: America is 'no longer Christian'

Last week President Obama said in addressing a press conference in Turkey last week: "Whatever we once were, we're no longer a Christian nation. At least not just. We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, and a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers,". View on Youtube.

The naïveté of His words (which merely echo what most of the world believes) speak for themselves. Bending over backwards to appease the enemy isn't going to get him any points, in fact it only proves to them we are weak. Which we are! Watching last weekend several presentations commemorating the 65th anniversary of D-Day only helped me see that even more clearly! This nation isn't what it used to be BECAUSE it forgot God. God brings wrath on those who reject Him, and this country is guilty of doing that big time.

If you are not a Christian, know and accept that Jesus was the Son of God who came and died for your sins.

As a Christian, don't be disgusted, this didn't start with the current administration, it started long ago. Most importantly, remember God's plans cannot be thwarted, and the Scriptures tell us that every ruler is put there by God ("the Most High God is ruler over the realm of mankind and that He sets over it whomever He wishes" Daniel 5:21). Rejoice at the signs of the times, as it shows us our redemption IS very, VERY close.

These futile attempts on the part of politicians and diplomats to achieve Middle East peace have been searching for peace for Israel for decades. Why? Why is this small and insignificant country (in the eyes of the world) such a concern? America has ignored many other skirmishes throughout the world, why is this one so important? It's all leading to the end of time. Zechariah 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. Referring to the siege of Jerusalem before the battle of Armageddon. Thankfully those of us who have put our trust in Jesus Christ before then will be watching, as one of my favorite Bible teachers puts it......"from the mezzanine".

While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. 1 Thessalonians 5:13

Technology in the Last Days

This was on Fox News yesterday. CNN and MSNBC did not cover it, at least the stories were not on their respective web sites. Fox News story quoted below or you can read it at http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,520331,00.html. The patent was being reviewed in Germany, where the Saudi Arabian inventor filed for his microchip with cyanide inside which can be activated to kill the person.

Whether it is approved or not, the point is, the technology is obviously there and the lack of a patent does not mean it will not be made and used. Like Bogey said "maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but soon!". But seriously.....anyone who does not see the signs of the times is just not trying.

I always said this is how technology would fulfill the prophecy of Revelation 13:15 And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. In this day and age when even low-income families can afford a cell phone; considering the way in which technology can be linked, it would be nothing to link one's microchip to his cell phone. Imagine the coming world leader, the Anti-Christ dictating that his image should be sent in a text or video message to all cell phones and whomever didn't accept it (as we accept messages every day) was to have the microchip's cyanide released thereby killing the person.

A few years ago anyone hearing that would say we've been watching too much X-Files!!!!!!!!

Thankfully, those who have trusted in Christ before the rapture will be spared all this! But those who are 'left behind' will suffer the doom of the Anti-Christ and his right hand man: Revelation 19:20 [Doom of the Beast and False Prophet] And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.

I believe most people will start getting these microchips implanted for security reasons and convenience's sake, such as scan hand for credit card and medical information, out of fear as tracking device for children. The latter is starting to become popular already. Revelation 13:17 and he [Anti-Christ] provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Few generations have been as blessed as we who are Christians today, and can TRULY be able to say they can see the hand of the Lord: Israel in the exodus & dessert, Jesus' time and now! Imagine the hundreds of generations which have lived with some doubt in their minds because they couldn't reconcile the signs of the times!!!!!!!!! The Lord has made it clear as glass that His word is true and prophecy is how we know it, because anyone can SAY something's going to happen, but when it comes true is the litmus test to us of who is telling the truth and to Whom we should be listening.

2 Peter 1:19-21

19So we have (A)the prophetic word made more (B)sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to (C)a lamp shining in a dark place, until the (D)day dawns and the (E)morning star arises (F)in your hearts.
20But (G)know this first of all, that (H)no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,
21for (I)no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men (J)moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
Joh 20:29 Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen Me you have believed. Blessed are they who have not seen and have believed.

Saudi 'Killer Chip' Implant Would Track, Eliminate Undesirables

Monday , May 18, 2009

It could be the ultimate in political control but it won't be patented in Germany.

German media outlets reported last week that a Saudi inventor's application to patent a "killer chip," as the Swiss tabloids put it, had been denied.

The basic model would consist of a tiny GPS transceiver placed in a capsule and inserted under a person's skin, so that authorities could track him easily.

Model B would have an extra function a dose of cyanide to remotely kill the wearer without muss or fuss if authorities deemed he'd become a public threat.

The inventor said the chip could be used to track terrorists, criminals, fugitives, illegal immigrants, political dissidents, domestic servants and foreigners overstaying their visas.

"The invention will probably be found to violate paragraph two of the German Patent Law which does not allow inventions that transgress public order or good morals," German Patent and Trademark Office spokeswoman Stephanie Krüger told the English-language German-news Web site The Local.

It's Nice To Get Outstanding News!

Received this from our church:
Gene just called, he was feeling excited. Two weeks ago he had led one of the drug dealers in the prison to the Lord. Today he went by to talk to him and the guy he worked for, one of the major drug lords in the prison, was there. Gene, never missed a beat and after a couple of hours that guy trusted in Christ as a Savior.

Now that is the only real solution to the drug problems!
With all the bad things going on around us, it's great to hear things like this and just remind ourselves that the Battle IS the Lord's and that HE cannot be beat. Remember also that Jesus told us in Matthew 6 that worry / anxiety is a sin!

We must overcome in the while we have left on this earth and witness as much as we can!

Silencing The Watchmen

From http://bible-prophecy-today.blogspot.com/2009/02/silencing-watchmen.html
by Jan Markell:

America is changing at break-neck speed and many of the changes are not helpful! While Americans were eager for "change," it is doubtful they anticipated the loss of free speech.

So let me explain the unfair "Fairness Doctrine." My radio program, Understanding the Times, is in the target range.

The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) met last weekend in Memphis and according to President Frank Wright, experienced an ominous shroud cast by the issue of the "Fairness Doctrine." They intend to fight this issue as much as that is possible. However, they may not even be given the opportunity to fight it as they would wish.

In an article posted online by Human Events on February 6,

Christian broadcasters say they will be targeted once President Obama's appointees gain control of the Federal Communications Commission.
Warren Kelley, president of Point of View, the first Christian talk show to go on the air via satellite 37 years ago, states,

The Left Wing will immediately start filing complaints, and it will in short order shut Christian broadcasting down.
He concludes,

I think it will so limit what they say that, in essence, they will cease to be Christian broadcasters.
NRB President Wright says that he expects Christian broadcasters to be hit hard because of the doctrine's requirement for so-called "balance."

Human Events has information that the Christian talk giant of Salem Communications may be the first targeted. Please note that I air on many Salem stations including Minneapolis/St. Paul, Seattle, and Portland. Salem's national talk show host Janet Parshall states,

What we want to do is tell the message of Jesus. What the 'Fairness Doctrine' would have us do is give equal time to Buddha, Allah and (Scientologist) L. Ron Hubbard.
NRB President Wright backs that up by saying,

If an opposing view must be found for every matter of controversy, Christian broadcasters could find themselves in the unenviable and untenable position of seeking out other religious viewpoints - Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, or atheist - to counter what ministers of the gospel say on air.
The process would work this way: A Muslim group such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) or a homosexual rights group such as the ACLU, would file a complaint with the FCC because Understanding the Times radio failed to provide the proper contrasting view. The FCC would be empowered to force the station to present the other side of the story or lose its license. Many stations would opt to cancel the show to avoid the controversy and legal expense.

One of last Saturday's radio guests on Understanding the Times is Gary Cass of the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission. Tune in on my Radio Archives to hear Gary explain this process. It does not require any vote in Congress. It just requires the new head of the FCC to sign a paper and the "Fairness Doctrine" is law again, having been abolished by President Reagan in the early 1980s.

As it looks now, this policy will only apply to Christian and conservative talk radio, not the print media or TV. They already lean left and conservatives will not be given the same opportunity to be a balance in those arenas. Nor would they be given an opportunity to speak on liberal talk radio such as Air America.

Christian radio upsets the Left because it opposes same-sex marriage, abortion, teen pregnancy, strict teaching of evolution, and the liberal secular movement. Thus, we are targeted even before Rush Limbaugh who actually sways elections.

While President Obama was vague on this issue during the campaign, he is no longer! The White House Web site on its technology agenda page states that the president plans to...

encourage diversity in the ownership of broadcast media, promote the development of new media outlets for expression of diverse viewpoints, and clarify the public interest obligations of broadcasters who occupy the nation's spectrum.
George Orwell's 1984 may have been 25 years early but the world it envisions has arrived. Welcome to the new America. God has allowed a strong delusion to take over this nation.

Hopefully Christians on their knees can lessen the damage.

Israeli Experts Believe There May Be A Major Oil Source In The Dead Sea Area

Prophecy continues to become history and more so in this, the end times. The news story below shows the stage is being set for the great battle of Ezekiel and the invasion of Israel from the North.

Prophecy tells us: 1) a large oil reserve WILL be found 2) the Arabs, Russians and Chinese WILL ally themselves against Israel to get that oil 3) Israel WILL win that battle by the hand of God.

These things will happen before the revealing of the AntiChrist and the rapture, so any Christian reading this should know the times!

Israeli Experts Believe There May Be A Major Oil Source In The Dead Sea Area
By Jimmy DeYoung

The Israeli National Parks Council has granted three major petroleum companies in Israel permission to do exploratory drilling for oil in the Judean Desert Nature Reserve in the Dead Sea region to see if there is a major source of oil in the lowest location on the Earth.

Led by Ginko Oil Company, the three companies believe that this is the best chance for Israel to find oil, a much needed commodity in the Jewish state of Israel which relies on the Arab world to supply Israeli oil needs.

The geological department at Hebrew University says that the fact that oil has been found previously in this area near the Dead Sea could mean that there is more in the region.

Jimmy's Prophetic Perspective on the News

The potential for a major source of oil in the Dead Sea area in Israel is setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Over the years, there have been a number of petroleum wildcatters, speculators, that have suggested various locations in Israel where oil could be found. Many of these speculators even used the Bible to help convince investors to get on board searching for this oil.

Now, three very legitimate companies in Israel have received permission to do exploratory drilling in a nature reserve near the Dead Sea that could be a major source of oil, a natural resource much needed in Israel. Should these companies and this exploratory drilling prove to be successful and they find a major source of oil in Israel, it will be that which prepares the way for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled. Ezekiel 38 mentions several times that the invading armies that come to destroy Israel in the last days will be coming, in fact, be lured into Israel to take a spoil and maybe that spoil is oil. These prophetic passages in Ezekiel 38 are verses 4, 12, 13, and 16.

The potential for a major oil source in the Dead Sea region of Israel does indeed help set the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

Eze 39:9 "Then those who inhabit the cities of Israel will go out and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears, and for seven years they will make fires of them.
Eze 39:10 "They will not take wood from the field or gather firewood from the forests, for they will make fires with the weapons; and they will take the spoil of those who despoiled them and seize the plunder of those who plundered them," declares the Lord GOD.
Eze 39:11 "On that day I will give Gog a burial ground there in Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the sea, and it will block off those who would pass by. So they will bury Gog there with all his horde, and they will call it the valley of Hamon-gog.
Eze 39:12 "For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them in order to cleanse the land.

By This - Measuring Stick For and About Christians

1 John is the book to read if you are unsure of your salvation. I read it in an attempt to help myself in Scripture memorization - the shorter the book perhaps the easier to memorize all the best passages in it.
In reading 1 John I noticed numerous times the phrase "by this". Flagged in my mind by one of my favorite and quickly memorized (the most relevant to me are always the easiest to remember) 1 John 4:2: "By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;". The phrase stood out and often used to point to proof about ourselves or others. Example: the heart of a man, the will of God, the righteousness of a man by his actions, etc.
So I searched the entire Bible for "by this", I've removed the references which don't fit here (i.e. "by this city"):

(Gen 24:14) now may it be that the girl to whom I say, 'Please let down your jar so that I may drink,' and who answers, 'Drink, and I will water your camels also'--may she be the one whom You have appointed for Your servant Isaac; and by this I will know that You have shown lovingkindness to my master.

(Gen 42:15) by this you will be tested: by the life of Pharaoh, you shall not go from this place unless your youngest brother comes here!

(Gen 42:33) "The man, the lord of the land, said to us, 'By this I will know that you are honest men: leave one of your brothers with me and take grain for the famine of your households, and go.

(Exo 7:17) 'Thus says the LORD, "By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, I will strike the water that is in the Nile with the staff that is in my hand, and it will be turned to blood.

(Num 16:28) Moses said, "By this you shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these deeds; for this is not my doing.

(Deu 32:47) "For it is not an idle word for you; indeed it is your life. And by this word you will prolong your days in the land, which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess."

(Jos 3:10) Joshua said, "By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that He will assuredly dispossess from before you the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Hivite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Amorite, and the Jebusite.

(2Sa 12:14) "However, because by this deed you have given occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born to you shall surely die."

(Psa 41:11) By this I know that You are pleased with me, Because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me.

(Mat 15:6) he is not to honor his father or his mother.' And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

(Joh 13:35) "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

(Joh 15:8) "My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

(Joh 16:30) "Now we know that You know all things, and have no need for anyone to question You; by this we believe that You came from God."

(Act 4:10) let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead--by this name this man stands here before you in good health.

(2Co 9:13) Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all,

(Heb 10:10) By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

(Heb 13:2) Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

(2Pe 2:19) promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved.

(1Jn 2:3) By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.

(1Jn 2:5) but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:

(1Jn 3:10) By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

(1Jn 3:16) We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

(1Jn 3:19) We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him

(1Jn 3:24) The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

(1Jn 4:2) By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;

(1Jn 4:6) We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

(1Jn 4:9) By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

(1Jn 4:13) By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

(1Jn 4:17) By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

(1Jn 5:2) By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.
