Tenakh/Hebrew/Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus Christ, Messiah

After the resurrection Jesus appeared to 2 people on the Emmaus road. In Lk 24:25-27 He said:
"O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?" Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

That was a wonderful 7-mile Bible study ;o). If you have ever wondered what Jesus would have quoted from the OT, what passages prophecy of His first coming, here's a great source copied from http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/messiah.htm:

Tenakh/Hebrew/Old Testament Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus Christ, Messiah

ALL of these prophesies were made hundreds, sometimes thousands, of years before Jesus Christ was born. Looking in the face of how He literally fulfilled them all (plus hundreds more), it is an impossibility that He is not Messiah, Saviour of the world. The ONLY person...past, present or future...who could fulfill all these prophecies is Jesus Christ. See His genealogy starting from faithful Abraham.

If you have questions about Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah prophesied in the Tenakh, please write Daniel Sims, a missionary to the Jewish people or visit his website, The Hope of Israel Baptist Mission. In Awe of Winter

This was so cool (pun intended :o]) - I had to share:

IN AWE OF WINTER
The first official day of Winter isn't until December 22, however in cities and towns across the nation temperatures have already begun to drop. Here in North Idaho, a blanket of freshly fallen snow covers Koinonia House. Like the staff here at K-House, many of you will have the opportunity to enjoy the poetry and beauty of the ice and snow of this special season.

Have you ever noticed that ice floats? Why?

Virtually every material substance contracts when it cools. As it gets warmer, the molecules increase their vibrational energy and require more room: the substance therefore expands as it warms. And, conversely, it contracts as it cools. Materials decrease in volume as they get colder. Water is the astonishing exception. It expands when it freezes into a solid. Why does water violate this general rule? Why does water expand when freezing?

The water molecule is a (not-so-simple) combination of two atoms of hydrogen bonded to one of oxygen. Yet this particular combination possesses an amazing array of unique characteristics that distinguish it from any other material known!

The Freezing Process

Although almost all materials decrease in volume as they get colder, water has an astonishing characteristic. As it drops toward its freezing point of 0oC (32o F), its volume also reduces until it reaches 4oC, after which it actually increases. In a pond or lake, for example, this "inverse convection" has the salutary effect of bringing oxygen dissolved at the surface down to the lower depths for use by fish and other organisms. This process continues until the entire area has reached 4oC. As the water cools below this temperature, it dramatically increases in volume, making it lighter than the water below. This ultimately causes the top layer to freeze, which then actually acts as an insulation layer against the very low temperature of the air above. If water did not have this strange property, the entire pond or lake would freeze solid and fish and other living creatures would be killed.

This expansion can have disastrous effects on uninsulated water pipes in winter. However, this expansion effect has essential functions in nature. The rain or dew penetrates the soil, and when it freezes, the soil is shattered into small particles, breaking up the hard earth into suitable conditions in which seeds can germinate.

Why This Exceptional Behavior?

This strange behavior derives from the unusual bonding relationship between the two hydrogen atoms and the one oxygen atom that make up a molecule of water, H2O. The oxygen atom strongly attracts the single electrons of the two hydrogen atoms, leaving the two positively charged hydrogen nuclei rather free to attract other negative atoms. This attracts the oxygen molecules in other water molecules to form rather large, but loosely coupled, frameworks.

These atoms are not in a straight line, however, and the hydrogen atoms are bent toward each other, forming an unsymmetrical three-dimensional structure. The angle formed between the two hydrogen and the central oxygen atom is 104.5o, almost precisely that of a hexagonal tetrahedron shape (109.5o), so it can take up this shape (slightly warped three-dimensionally) with little stress on the bonds. Opposite the hydrogen atoms, the clouds of resulting negative electrification attract the hydrogen nucleus of an adjacent water molecule to form what is called a hydrogen bond - the key to water's peculiar behavior.

These tenacious hydrogen bond frameworks give water many astonishing characteristics, including anomalously high values for viscosity, surface tension, and the temperature and heats of melting and boiling. This results in its ubiquitous role as a solvent, its remarkable thermal properties, its surface tension and capillary action, and virtually innumerable chemical properties that are essential for life.

One would expect that these unique properties would make it a very rare molecule, produced only with great difficulty under laboratory conditions. The reality is, of course, quite the opposite: it is the most prevalent material on the planet, covering three-fourths of its surface, diffused extensively in the atmosphere, and - to the surprise of geologists - also found at astonishing depths in the earth. That such a unique substance should be in such abundance is in contradiction to any expectation of random chance alone.

Snow

Water vapor is a clear gas, which, as it cools under normal conditions, condenses and forms into water droplets. At high altitudes, water vapor can cool to below freezing, but in the absence of an impurity such as dust, around which it can collect, it will remain in this state.

When ice crystals form, the molecules of water arrange themselves in a specific pattern that is determined by the tetrahedral shape of the molecule in the frozen state described above. As further molecules join those already frozen, they give up their high latent heat of freezing, and melt the adjacent molecules, which reform to a shape dependent upon the local conditions of air temperature, wind currents, humidity, etc. Each snowflake pattern is unique to itself, but is always based upon the hexagonal bonding pattern of the ice crystals familiar to us all.

Snow also has a constructive role in the ecological cycle. It filters dust out of the air, absorbs nitrogen which then enters the soil, and acts as an insulating blanket to the plants and roots in the ground. The difference in temperature between the air and the ground covered by two feet of snow can be as much as 40oC.

When snow melts, it requires considerable heat to effect this, and therefore melts slowly, lowering the rate of melt water and reducing the flooding that could occur if the latent heat of freezing were lower.

In addition to all these unique properties, snow also has the added ability of reflecting all the colors of the spectrum to yield pure white. Is no wonder that we often find ourselves in awe of the sheer beauty of a layer of freshly fallen snow. May the tell-tale signs of winter throughout the coming months serve to remind you of the wonderful works of our Lord.

Work > Blessings > Sharing

Ephesians 4:28 says "He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have {something} to share with one who has need."

James 4:3 says " You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend {it} on your pleasures."

It seems too many people, even Christians in our society feel a sense of entitlement from God. I admit I myself had read the passage above many times without noticing the Eph 4:28 part which I have emphasized in bold letters above. Too many of us live as if and truly think we DESERVE a better house, job, car, etc. As Isaiah 64:6 teaches us, the BEST of our actions still leaves us as filthy rags ... and nothing but the acceptance of the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ will save us from our own sins.

Jesus' Return a Waste of Time?

Jesus' Return a Waste of Time?
Source: Jan Markell – www.olivetreeviews.org

ChristianNet.com recently asked readers to respond to the question, "Are we living in the end-times?" Of the hundreds surveyed, 75% responded positively. One said, "Everything Jesus spoke about in regards to the signs of the times at His return is happening right before our eyes." Many of the respondents agreed that what is happening in the world today is fulfilling Bible prophecies regarding the last days.

Some also stated that Christians should not be fearful of this time but rather be rejoicing. One said these days are as they were in the days of Noah (Matthew 24). Another believer exclaimed, "You can see it, taste it, smell it, hear it, and feel that Jesus is coming soon."

Yet one of the most frequent comments I get is that when those who want to pass on this good news to friends or family, they are met with criticism, apathy, or scorn. And while Peter tells us there will be a generation of scoffers (II Peter 3:4), clearly not everyone has caved to this attitude.

So if there is a strong remnant believing in His soon return and who even suggest we can almost hear the hoof beats of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, why aren't more pulpits teaching this? Why aren't more publishing houses printing such books, more TV preachers explaining it, and more seminaries helping future pastors prepare to teach it?

Why can't some in all of the above categories step up to the plate and endure some criticism which they will surely get? The Lord's soon return is a message that helps us live holy lives in an unholy age. It encourages us to evangelize if we believe the hour is late. It takes our eyes off of daily struggles and helps us focus on eternity. And a special crown awaits all who long for His appearing (II Tim. 4:8).

But many church leaders will tell you the issue is "divisive," it will "impede church growth," and the church must address "cultural issues" facing families. Pastors don't want "pie-in-the-sky-by-and-by." They want to address issues that their congregation may be struggling with. But if the congregation was focusing on the "blessed hope" of Jesus' return, a lot of other anxieties and "cultural issues" would diminish! This is the best news in the Bible, and it occupies about three-fourths of the Bible. Do you think God wants us to know about these things? Don't you think He believes this message is the antidote for a lot of social, personal, and family issues?

Roger Oakland writes in his new book, Faith Undone, a critique of the Emergent Church, "Many who were once looking for the return of Jesus have fallen asleep. We now live in a period of time where numerous prominent Christian leaders are telling the Christian masses that paying attention to the signs of the times in light of the Bible is a waste of time. And many of them take it a step further and accuse those who believe what Bible prophecy says about the end of the age of being negative and self-centered."
Oakland quotes Rick Warren in "Purpose Driven Life" as saying, "The details of my return are none of your business. What is your business is the mission I have given you. Focus on that."

But Jesus never said that! Rather, He chastised the Pharisees of His day for knowing the signs of the weather but not the signs of the times (His first coming). And our "mission" should be winning souls while there is still time. Again, this blends in perfectly with a "lateness of the hour" theme. The words of Jesus and exhortations about His return in the Bible are legion!

The poll results encourage me greatly. There are those in the church today who do anticipate a soon-returning King.

We just don't know how soon.

Seven Feasts of Israel....And How they Prophecied the The 1st and 2nd Coming of Jesus Christ

http://www.inplainsite.org/html/seven_feasts_of_israel.html
has a wonderful explanation for Christians of the 7 feasts of Israel - how they relate to Jesus's first coming as well as his second coming. Including this wonderful chart showing exactly where it all falls within our own western calendar.
Introduction Notice that the feasts fall into three clusters. The first three feasts Passover, Unleavened Bread, and First Fruits occur in rapid succession in the spring of the year over a period of eight days. They came to be referred to collectively as "Passover."

The fourth feast, Harvest, occurs fifty days later at the beginning of the summer. By New Testament times this feast had come to be known by its Greek name, Pentecost, a word meaning fifty.

The last three feasts Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles extend over a period of twenty-one days in the fall of the year. They came to be known collectively as "Tabernacles." (The Feasts of Israel A Study in Symbolic Prophecy by Dr. David R. Reagan)

Go to http://www.inplainsite.org/html/seven_feasts_of_israel.html to read on........

It is important for a Christian to understand the prophetic implications of the Feasts of Israel. You will understand better the New Testament by understanding hos the feasts are also prophetic. Once you understand these, you will better see the timing of prophetic events and the ORDER in which they will happen......perhaps even the actual days in which they will happen......however, the year itself is unknown as Jesus told us in Matthew 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone."

Seven Major Prophetic Signs Of The Second Coming

This Bible study by Jack Kelley (Click here to read entire study. I've only copied the key points to peak your interest. I hope you will read it and be informed). [Emphases in italics bold and blue are from the text, but emphasized by myself]:

Seven Major Prophetic Signs Of The Second Coming
There are seven major prophetic signs of the Second Coming, and for the first time in history all seven are in some stage of fulfillment. As in years past, I'll list the seven with their primary biblical references and offer commentary from current events.

1. Israel Will Be In The Land... Ezekiel 38:8
After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety.
In 1948, when Israel took its place among the nations of the world again for the first time in nearly 2000 years, students of prophecy recognized the fulfillment of the primary sign that the end of the age was upon us. Jesus had said that the generation being born when that happened would still be alive when He returned (Matt. 24:34)...

2. Jerusalem Will Be In Jewish Hands... Luke 21:24
They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
The Lord prophesied that the reunification of Jerusalem as a Jewish City would be a sign that foreign (gentile) influence over His land, and indeed the world, was about to end. When this happened in 1967, prophecy experts saw it as another major sign fulfilled...

...And remember, the culmination of End Times prophecies is the Second Coming, not the Rapture of the Church, which precedes it by at least 7 years...

...As the time draws nearer, the timing of the 2nd Coming will become more and more obvious. Those people around when a treaty is enforced permitting the Jews to build their Temple in Israel will know that it's seven years away. Those who witness the anti Christ standing in that Temple proclaiming himself to be God will know there are only 1260 days left until the end of the Great Tribulation, and the 2nd Coming happens right after that. As Paul so clearly put it, only those in darkness will be taken by surprise...

3. A Moslem Coalition Armed And Led By Russia Will Attack The Holy Land... Ezek. 38:2-6
"Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal; prophesy against him. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army--your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops--the many nations with you."...
...Over 130 historical references make it plain that Magog stands for modern Russia, and the other countries named here form a coalition based on their common religion, Islam. (Today Russia is 30% Moslem and growing.) Among them are Iran, several North African countries, Eastern European countries along the Danube, and the Turkic nations of Asia Minor. A quick look at a world map will reveal that these areas are home to some of the most violent Islamic terrorist groups...

...The Russians are already a major supplier of arms for the Moslem coalition, just as Ezekiel prophesied...

...When the time is right, having recently taken His church to Heaven, the Lord will use this battle to orchestrate His reconciliation with Israel, and on its heels the anti Christ will emerge with a peace plan that includes a Jewish Temple. So once this battle takes place, end times prophecy will go on fast forward.

4. The Ancient Roman Empire Will Re-Emerge As A Political Force... Rev 17:9-10

"This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while." (This one is a little obscure if you don't know your history. When John was writing this, about 95AD, there had been five great world powers; Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, and Greece. All were conquered and absorbed. The current power was Rome, which was never really conquered and will re-emerge at the end of the age, according to Daniel 9:26.)...

...In the mean time the Western European Union (WEU) a 10 nation confederacy of the only permanent and fully vested members of the EU has assumed responsibility for creating its military arm, based on its Recommendation 666, passed earlier. And in January 2007 the EU's European Neighborhood Plan (ENP) takes effect. It's a seven-year treaty that brings 12 Middle Eastern countries including Israel and the Palestinian Authority into economic cooperation with the EU. The EU's Javier Solana has been fighting to get this program off the ground for years, and its coming implementation has made him the current favorite among those looking for the anti-Christ.

5. The World Will Embrace A Single Religion... Rev 13:8
All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.

The one world religion idea has been around for most of our generation, often under the guise of ecumenism. As the liberal denominations continue watering down their theology there are fewer things keeping them apart. Now some Evangelical leaders are questioning whether Jesus is really the only way to salvation. The flirtation between certain Evangelical groups and the Catholic Church is interesting, as is the dialog between the Pope and Leaders of Islam, and their common devotion to Mary. The Catholic Church is one of the richest organizations on the planet with over 1 billion members on 6 continents, and clearly thinks of itself as the world's dominant religious group. It's no secret that the Catholic church is posturing itself to be a major player in End times events.

But make no mistake about it. The rise of radical Islam is the chief threat to world peace today and their goal is nothing less than world domination. Their god is not the God of the Bible, and their fight with Jews and Christians actually began in the 7th Century AD when the Jews rejected Mohammed's offer of consolidation. Prior to that time he had counseled his followers to respect and befriend the Jewish people, but when they refused to join his religion, he declared jihad (holy war) against them. Christians were included 400 years later as a result of the Crusades...

...Much has been written this year about al Mahdi, a manifestation of Moslem prophecy that is strikingly similar to Christian prophecies of the anti-Christ. Both come on the scene during a time of great turmoil on Earth, both come claiming a desire to restore peace, both have a seven year reign, both head a one world religion and one world government, both claim supernatural origins, and both reigns end in a battle between good and evil that brings about Earth's final judgment. Some students of prophecy remind us that the Roman Empire had an Eastern component composed of the very countries whose people are the most militant advocates of Islam today, and that the anti-Christ could easily come from there...

6. The World Will Accept A Single Government... Rev 13:3
The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.
Earlier, I stated my view that a decline in US strength would be necessary to permit the Battle of Ezekiel to take place. This is also a necessary precursor to the emergence of a one world government....................

7. Babylon Will Re-Emerge As A Prominent City In World Affairs... Rev 18:2-3
With a mighty voice he shouted: "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird. For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."
Babylon is still a ways away from accepting its destiny as a city of power in the end times. It's just a ceremonial city right now, but 15 years ago nobody even knew it existed at all. One of the shocks of Gulf War 1 was the discovery of Babylon standing there on the banks of the Euphrates again..................

Other Signs
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Matt. 24:6-14)

Then he said to them: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. (Luke 21:10-11)
"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." (Luke 21:25-28)

WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS ... Depending upon whose intelligence reports you read somewhere between 30 and 50 wars are currently being fought around the world, with a substantial number of additional disputes threatening to erupt into war at any time.
THE INCREASE OF NATURAL DISASTERS ... More frequent and more severe hurricanes, more frequent and more intense earthquakes. Killer storms and quakes continue to dot the news, although 2006 didn't achieve the record levels of devastation caused in 2005
SIGNS IN THE SUN, MOON, AND STARS ... The magnetic polar reversal, predicted by computer model for 2012 is gaining more attention since its likelihood was first announced. Having moved several hundred miles across Canada the Magnetic North Pole is currently headed for Siberia. While the effects of a Magnetic Polar Reversal have never been observed by mankind, it has apparently happened in the distant past. What's unique this time is that the Sun is due for a polar reversal at the same time. I've speculated that the effects of the polar reversal could fulfill Revelation 6 and if the projected time of 2012 is correct, it fits nicely into the End Times prophecy window we opened above.
PESTILENCE... Not only new diseases like HIV and SARS but also the return of old ones like Whooping cough. But the big news again this year is the likely spread of Avian Influenza (Bird Flu). A few cases among humans have lead to fears that the virus has mutated to thrive in a human host. Dire predictions are placing possible deaths from this pandemic in the millions
THE LOVE OF MOST WILL GROW COLD ... 3500 people die every day in defense of the Christian faith. Run away crime, children being abused and murdered by their parents, children killing children. Murder trials as public entertainment soon to be followed by televised executions. Ethnic cleansing, rape and forced pregnancy, pedophilia, random shootings, the incidence of disrespect is enough to make you sick.
THIS GOSPEL WILL BE PREACHED IN ALL NATIONS ... Looking at the state of the world, it's hard to be encouraged. But as world news gets worse and worse, more people are turning to the Lord for solace. According to some reports as many as 175,000 new believers are born again every day, mostly in Africa, China, and India. Reports of these conversions are accompanied by accounts of miracles, people receiving supernatural healings and even being raised from the dead. Just as He did at the beginning of the church Age the Holy Spirit is moving mightily at its End. I believe the Lord is issuing a giant "last call" before He suddenly takes the church out of here to begin the End Times judgments.
The above are given as indicators in the Olivet Discourse (Matt 24, Mark 13, Luke 21) and we'll continue to bring you periodic information on these as well.
As you know most of the signs in the Olivet Discourse are progressive and all are described as happening well before the end. Their main interest to us is found in the phrase "beginning of birth pangs." Natural disasters, the tendency toward war as a tool of diplomacy, famine amidst plenty (35,000 children die each day of starvation and related diseases) and pestilence are described as being common to the era but increasing in frequency and intensity as the end approaches. This was certainly the case in 2005 and is an indicator of how close we are to the end.
It's true that for over 100 years folks have been saying, "how much worse can it get?" Sadly, the answer now as it was then is, "Much!" It seems man's depravity knows no limits. But take heart. Though we are in the world, we are not of the world. We don't belong here, being citizens of heaven. And one day soon our long awaited King will return to take us there. Maranatha!

Golden Rule of Interpretation

When studying the Scripture, remember to always read the entire passage, to get the verses in context. If you are stuck on something, remember........

The Golden Rule of Interpretation:

When the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense; therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning, unless the facts of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and axiomatic and fundamental truths, indicate clearly otherwise.

(as formulated by Dr. David L. Cooper, the late director of the Biblical Research Society)

A Remnant of Christians?????

If you are a student of Scripture you should be familiar with the profesied 'remnant of Jews' which will be saved at the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ, at which point the Jews will believe that He was the Messiah. That's another study, (ref. Zephaniah 2:9, Zechariah 14:2, etc.).

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary (MHCC tab in e-Sword if you have downloaded it). E-sword's Commentary download page: http://www.e-sword.net/commentaries.html.
"Rom 9:25-29 -

The rejecting of the Jews, and the taking in the Gentiles, were foretold in the Old Testament. It tends very much to the clearing of a truth, to observe how the Scripture is fulfilled in it. It is a wonder of Divine power and mercy that there are any saved: for even those left to be a seed, if God had dealt with them according to their sins, had perished with the rest. This great truth this Scripture teaches us. Even among the vast number of professing Christians it is to be feared that only a remnant will be saved."

Matthew Henry died in 1714. The "Concise Commentary" is an encapsulated version of Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible. Even back then he could see the apostasy of the church which would occur in the last days, as warned by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:3.

Imagine!!!!! How sad! How many people .......... GENERATIONS..........may be surprised when they die, that their profession of faith was not a true one. That they were only playing at Christianity and teaching the next generation to do so as well???? Playing at going to church, sunday school, reading the Bible, going to church socials, insisting kids marry someone of their own faith, praying over Christmas and Easter dinner ...............etc. etc. etc. (all the obligatory outward things - "works") all the while not really being believers in Christ?!?!?

Rev. 20:12: "...and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds." (believers in Christ are not, their sins have been washed away by His blood sacrifice)

Gal. 2:16: "...a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified."

Why????
Ultimately the fault lies within us. It is out of our God-given free will to choose the redemption by the blood of His son or not. He loved us enough to give us the choice, because forced worship is no worship at all. Perhaps the worst thing that ever happened to Christianity is organized religion!!!!!!!!!!! As Dr. Tony Evans has said............"some of the worst Christians are the ones who are in church every time the doors open.......because that is what they think being a 'Christian' is about"!

Jesus was the most UN-religious person who ever walked the face of the earth. He taught in the synagogues, yes.........but by the example of the Pharisees (leaders of the 'church'), He showed us ALL, Christians and Jews alike, that we are to know God and His word ourselves..........NOT simply sit in church week after week listening to some man's dissertation of a few verses, which may even be taken out of context. READ THE BIBLE. Make up your own mind!

Jewish example: Psalm 22 was, in the past, considered by the rabbis as prophetic in nature about the Messiah. However, eventually it was decided by the rabbis that the Christians were onto this, and that it should be de-emphasized. Dr. Chuck Missler covers this in detail in his study on Psalms. Free to hear (his 66/40 radio show) online here - click on part 5. Psalm 22 reads the crucifixion of Jesus as if dictated from the cross!!! It opens and closes with the first and last words spoken by Jesus on the Cross. NOTE: this Psalm was written 600 years before crucifixion was invented by the Persians.

Christian example: By and large today's churches teach the unBiblical view that the church has replaced Israel due to Israel's rejection of their Messiah. WRONG!!!!!!!!!! There are hundreds of Biblical reasons to prove this wrong! To claim this is to call God a liar. The Book of Revelation revolves around Israel! The saved will be singing the song of Moses in heaven!

Salvation by Yeshua

An explanation of proof that Jesus Christ was the Messiah prophecied in the Old Testament: by Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum: Salvation by Yeshua

Know who He is: "A review of REAL MESSIAH QUALIFICATIONS [this link includes Scripture cross-references to make each point] makes it obvious that God has provided us with a resplendent resume in Scripture we can use to identify the Messiah. There is only one man in history who fulfills these prophecies. He is not just a man, for no mere man can fulfill all of these supernatural requirements. Messiah is both God and man. The storms of life compel us all to seek out and know the truth. Life is not a game show. Why simply guess, make unstudied assumptions, or apathetically “go with the flow” about something of such eternal consequence?"

The Blood-Red Moon, the Temple Mount and the Bible

The Blood-Red Moon, the Temple Mount and the Bible - Bill Koenig – www.watch.org
August 28, 2007, had very revealing headlines:
A Blood-Red Moon Rises over North America, Olmert Offers Temple Mount Sovereignty to the Palestinians, Olmert and Abbas Meet on Israel's Land and Jerusalem, Bush Says Iran's Actions Could Lead to a Shadow of a Nuclear Holocaust, and Bush Arrives in New Orleans for his 15th Post-Katrina Visit
These were the news headlines on the day of a total lunar eclipse that produced a "blood-red" moon, the second one in seven years. The last total lunar eclipse/"blood-red" moon occurred on July 16, 2000, while U.S. President Bill Clinton, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian President Yasser Arafat were at the Middle East Summit at Camp David. The sticking point that caused the summit to fail had to do with who would have sovereignty over the Temple Mount — the Israelis or the Palestinian Arabs.
During this year's total lunar eclipse/"blood-red" moon of Aug. 28, 2007, that rose over North America, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert offered the Palestinians sovereignty over the Temple Mount. What was so incredible about the timing of this offer is that it didn't take place days, weeks or months after the "blood-red" moon but on the very same day. In other words, the Temple Mount’s sovereignty was a central focus during both total lunar eclipse/ "blood-red" moons in 2000 and this week.
Blood-Red Moon
The Old and New Testaments speak of blood-red moons prior to the Tribulation.
Joel 2:31 (KJV) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.
Acts 2:20 (KJV) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.
The Jewish Talmud (book of tradition/interpretation) says, "When the moon is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel. If its face is as red as blood, [it is a sign that] the sword is coming to the world."
Total-eclipse “blood-red” moons are rare. The next total-eclipse/ "blood-red" moon will occur on Feb. 21, 2008. Having another total eclipse this close to a previous one is extremely rare; to say the least, we will be watching that day with much interest.
News From the Last Two Blood-Red Moons
During the "blood-red" moon of July 16, 2000, President Clinton, Prime Minister Barak and President Arafat were participating in the Middle East Summit at Camp David from July 11-25.
According to Mitchell Bard, the executive director of the nonprofit American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise (AICE), Prime Minister Barak offered to withdraw from 97 percent of the West Bank and 100 percent of the Gaza Strip. In addition, he agreed to dismantle 63 isolated settlements. In exchange for the 5 percent annexation of the West Bank, Israel would increase the size of the Gaza territory by roughly a third.
Bard said Barak also made previously unthinkable concessions on Jerusalem, agreeing that Arab neighborhoods of East Jerusalem would become the capital of the new Palestinian state.
The Barak proposal also addressed the refugee issue, guaranteeing them the right of return to the Palestinian state and reparations from an international fund that would be collected to compensate them.
Barak began referring to the 'Holy of Holies' (Aryeh Dayan, Ha'aretz)
In early September 2000, about two months after Ehud Barak and Yasser Arafat returned empty-handed from the failed summit at Camp David, a series of clandestine meetings was held in Jerusalem between Israelis and Palestinians. Most of them took place in an isolated private home in the western Jerusalem suburb of Ein Karem and were meant to find a formula that would resolve the harsh dispute that broke out at the summit around the future of the Temple Mount.
The talks were held at the home of Dr. Moshe Amirav, the man who was appointed the day after the Camp David debacle as the prime minister's adviser on the issue of a permanent settlement in Jerusalem.
Seated alongside Amirav during some of the conversations was Danny Yatom, who headed the political-security staff at the Prime Minister's office at the time. In these conversations, the late Faisal Husseini, who headed the Palestinian negotiating team on Jerusalem, represented the Palestinians.
The dispute over the Temple Mount had nothing to do with practical arrangements that would be implemented there. The crux of the dispute centered on sovereignty, and nothing else. While Arafat demanded that the entire Temple Mount — Haram al-Sharif in Arab terminology — would be under full and exclusive sovereignty of the Palestinians, Barak demanded that partial sovereignty over the site — which, to the disbelief of several of his colleagues in the Israeli delegation, he suddenly began to call "The Holy of Holies" — would remain in Israel's possession.
Amirav and Husseini, whose Ein Karem conversations took place with Barak and Arafat's knowledge, worked out a formula that both men believed would be able to circumvent this difference of opinion.
According to the proposal they drafted, the United Nations would establish a "commonwealth of states," in whose hands the Temple Mount would be entrusted. This commonwealth of nations would have 11 member states: the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian state that would be established as part of the peace treaty and Israel.
Ongoing administration of the Temple Mount, stated the document, would remain in the Waqf's domain, and Yasser Arafat "could be the guardian of the sites holy to Islam."
The Temple Mount, claims Amirav, is what prevented the sides from reaching agreement.
"The Camp David summit," explained Amirav in conversation with Ha'aretz, "became a 'Jerusalem summit,' perhaps even a 'Temple Mount summit.'" The three leaders who took part — Barak, Arafat and their host, U.S. President Bill Clinton — devoted, claims Amirav, "hundreds of hours" to discussions on Jerusalem in general and the Temple Mount in particular. "It may be hard to believe," says Amirav, "but Clinton himself spent hours poring over maps with Barak and Arafat."
It was Arafat's and Barak's stubborn insistence on sovereignty that prevented an agreement. rafat insisted on full and exclusive Palestinian sovereignty "both because he wanted to go down in history as having liberated the Temple Mount and because he wanted the Temple Mount to provide a pan-Muslim counterweight to the little State of Palestine."
But Barak wanted to go down in Jewish history as the man who gave Israel sovereignty, if only partial, over the Temple Mount.
Moshe Amirav calls this a "groundless assertion." He says in exchange for conceding the Temple Mount, Israel could have received the recognition of the entire world — including the Arab and Muslim world — both of its sovereign existence and Jerusalem as its capital. Sooner or later, he says, Israel will be forced to "get rid of the Temple Mount." He proposes that Israel "give the Temple Mount as a gift, not to Arafat, but to the leaders of the countries of Islam." If it does so, he believes Israel will receive the recognition of the entire Muslim world.
Bad Omen: Olmert Offers Palestinians Temple Mount Sovereignty
Aaron Klein of WorldNetDaily reported that on Tuesday, Aug. 28, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert presented the Palestinian Authority with a formal plan in which the Jewish state would forfeit the Temple Mount — Judaism's holiest site — to Muslim control, according to top Palestinian sources.
WND reported the sources said Olmert's plan calls for the entire Temple Mount plaza to fall under Arab sovereignty; Jerusalem's Old City holy sites near the Mount to be governed by a Jewish, Christian and Muslim task force; and the Western Wall plaza below the Mount to be controlled by Israel.
According to Palestinian negotiators who took part in the Olmert-Abbas meeting, Olmert also presented Abbas with a plan for Israel to evacuate most of the West Bank and cede eastern sections of Jerusalem. The plan called for Israel to retain three main settlement blocks; in exchange, Israel would offer the Palestinians Israeli-Arab towns in the north of the country, the Palestinian negotiators told WND.
Bush, Iran and Katrina
Later on Tuesday, Aug. 28, President George W. Bush told the 89th Annual Convention of the American Legion in Nevada: Iran's active pursuit of technology that could lead to nuclear weapons threatens to put a region already known for instability and violence under the shadow of a nuclear holocaust. Iran's actions threaten the security of nations everywhere. And that is why the United States is rallying friends and allies around the world to isolate the regime, to impose economic sanctions. We will confront this danger before it is too late.
Bush also said, "We seek to advance a two-state solution for the Israelis and Palestinians so they can live side by side in peace and security. We seek justice and dignity and human rights for all the people of the Middle East." In another very symbolic and relevant irony, President Bush arrived in New Orleans later that day for his 15th trip to survey rebuilding progress on the second anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which occurred on the heels of the expulsion of 9,500 Jews from their homes in Gaza and northern Samaria. The White House reported that the federal government has provided more than $114 billion for relief, recovery and rebuilding efforts — over $96 billion of which has been disbursed, or is available for, the states to draw from. Summary
This year’s total lunar eclipse/"blood-red" moon that rose over North America, occurred during a very symbolic and significant news day not only in Israel but in the United States too, this was not be accident or coincidence.
We also know the Bush Administration seems committed to a peace deal before they leave office. In Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's keynote message to the American Task Force on Palestine Inaugural Gala, "Helping Palestinians Build a Better Future," given in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 11, 2006, she stated: I can only tell you that I, too, have a personal commitment to that goal because I believe that there could be no greater legacy for America than to help to bring into being a Palestinian state for a people who have suffered too long, who have been humiliated too long, who have not reached their potential for too long, and who have so much to give to the international community and to all of us. I promise you my personal commitment to that goal.
Israel's secular leadership of Ehud Olmert, Ehud Barak and Shimon Peres are leading their nation into a very dangerous direction, not to forget the role George W. Bush and Condoleezza Rice are playing. As I have shown over and over again in my book, Eye to Eye — Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel, the future won’t be good to those who attempt to divide God's covenant land and interfere with His plan for the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

Jesus Is Ready for Judgment Day.....Are You?

Thought the title might catch your eye ;o). Actually I just wanted to point out what I noticed while studying my Bible yesterday and also the importance of paying attention when we study. God means what He says and says what He means!

James 5:9 Do not complain, brethren, against one another,
so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold,
the Judge is standing right at the door.

1 Peter 4:5 but they will give account to Him who is ready
to judge the living and the dead.

As Acts 10:42 tells us, this Judge is Jesus Himself:
"And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to
testify that this is the One who has been appointed
by God as Judge of the living and the dead."

Jesus is ready to return in the blink of an eye, and if anyone doesn't believe the Bible is current information, he should take a closer look and see all of the prophetic signs which are coming to pass. You can read Matthew 24 and/or Mark 13 to see the "signs of His coming" in Jesus' own words.
